Harren Group, a leading German shipowner and maritime logistics specialist, has partnered with Orca AI, a maritime technology innovator, to enhance the safety and efficiency of its newly built fleet of heavy-duty, multi-purpose deck carriers and bulk carriers. This collaboration marks a significant step toward building a data-driven safety culture.

Nils Aden, Managing Director of Harren Group, stated: "Our new Orca vessel is equipped with ultra-efficient engines and propulsion systems that enable zero-emission operations. By integrating Orca AI, we are enhancing safety and sustainability through technological advancements, raising awareness, reducing fuel consumption, and supporting smarter navigation."

The partnership enables the Hareon Group to measure and improve navigation behavior based on real data rather than assumptions, strengthening coordination between crews and fleet managers.

  Connect bridge to shore

The Orca AI system integrates both onboard and shore technologies. The SeaPod digital observation platform provides real-time visual and thermal detection, enabling crew to identify risks early and avoid close-range contact. FleetView, an analytical dashboard, collects navigation data for shore offices, offering insights into bridge performance and trends. The system also supports post-nautical reviews and targeted crew training.

Yarden Gross, CEO and co-founder of Orca AI, stated: 'Harren Group represents the next generation of maritime safety leaders. They are leveraging AI insights and real-world data to develop transparent, measurable safety practices. '

Embed AI in security and sustainability

This initiative integrates AI-powered safety into Hareon Group's fleet operations. By combining real-time computer vision data with navigation systems, the platform enhances situational awareness, predicts risks, and reduces bridge workload. The result is safer, more efficient navigation, lower emissions, and smarter decision-making.

"At Hareon Group, innovation and responsibility go hand in hand," said Aden. "Prudent stewardship safeguards both our people and our planet."

  Set standards

According to Gross, forward-thinking operators like Harren Group are shaping the future of offshore operations by making artificial intelligence, transparency, and measurable safety performance core elements of modern fleet management.
